Our
mission statement:
The
Whitby Synchronized Skating Team promotes excellence in synchronized
skating by encouraging skaters to achieve and perform at their
highest level in a safe and positive training environment fostering
leadership, community involvement and good sportsmanship. We strive
to enrich skater knowledge on and off ice while emphasizing personal
and team growth of all participants. We encourage "life skills"
and develop our athletes with a core of morals and ethics that
will positively influence and develop the individual throughout
their life.

Ice
Fyre is a non-profit organization with a long and successful
history of synchronized skating in Whitby. We encourage fun,
team spirit and personal growth in the sport of synchronized
skating at all levels. We believe that participating in sports
is a healthy, both physically and mentally, part of an individual's
life. Success is not measured by the medals or awards taken
home, but by the growth and achievements of each individual
within the Ice Fyre family.

The
Ice Fyre organization is volunteer run. Our members elect
a board of directors annually who oversee the activities of Ice
Fyre that includes organizing club events, generating fundraising
opportunities and promoting the teams within the community. The
goal of Ice Fyre is to offer recreational (festival) and
competitive programs that cover members' interests and maximum
development of skills. Ice Fyre is proud to be part of
the Whitby Figure Skating Club and enjoys skating on a state of
the art figure skating rink at McKinney Arena in Whitby.
If you are interested in learning more about our organization
we encourage you to contact
us. During the 2008-09 skating season, Ice Fyre
will be represented by three teams: Juvenile Festival, Novice
Festival and Junior Competitive. Please visit those pages for
more information about team requirements.
